After School Programs

We are proud of the creative program we offer children needing care after school or wishing to pursue a special passion. Our programs provide continuity between the children’s experience in their classrooms and after school. We strive to create a caring, respectful, joyful environment where students are encouraged to develop their interests.

Santa Cruz Montessori offers a variety of after school programs for elementary and junior high/middle school children. (Younger children needing care attend our Montessori All-Day classrooms).

Elementary children (1st through 6th grades) may participate in a regular after school recreation program including sports, games, arts and crafts, homework club, and free play. The program provides a fun, relaxed environment with a consistent structure and caring recreation leaders. The program is available from 3:00 – 6:00 pm with parents paying on an hourly basis. Early morning care before school is also available beginning at 7:30 am.

In addition, Santa Cruz Montessori offers an After School Enrichment program for elementary and junior high students (1st through 9th grades). Classes, clubs, and sports teams give students the opportunity to pursue their interests in more depth under the direction of a specially trained teacher. A sampling of offerings include: SCM Children’s Choir, violin instruction, chess club, chemistry & physics, creative movement, yoga, ceramics, team sports, and organizational and presentation skills training.
