Liv Dennen
Sequoia Class Assistant

Liv was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa until she was 9 until moving to Virginia where she lived until attending UC Santa Cruz. Liv has her bachelors degree in Environmental Science. Throughout college, she had been a nanny for multiple families. Once she graduated, she worked as an environmental scientist until she realized that working with kids was her true passion. Ever since Liv was little, her favorite game to play with her younger siblings was school, where she taught her siblings advanced algebra, inequalities, and spelling for their age. After working in the environmental science field for some time, she then transitioned to work at Midtown Montessori while working on achieving her Early Childhood Education Certification. It was at Midtown where her strong interest in the Montessori philosophy developed. Liv finds the development of children in a social, emotional, and academic setting a true gift to be a part of our responsibilities as adults. She finds teaching to be highly rewarding and heart warming, and she believes to be as much as a student from her students as she is a teacher to them. Liv now works as the Assistant Teacher for the Sequoia class.
